Site Updates May 2008

Posted by SampleSimple.com on 30 April 2008

Man oh man! It’s crazy trying to juggle a couple projects at once especially when you don’t have much technical back-support or team. In the past year, I’ve changed this site about 50 times (can someone verify the count?), I’ve created a series of FL Studio recording and sampling videos, been elected as an Officer of the FaceBook FL Studio Users Group, attempted to create a mini-publishing company to release a series of FL Studio based e-books and a bunch of other wacky stuff that I still to this day involve myself in. Yea I’m crazy. Please be prepared for a couple more site changes as I’m working extremely hard (and smart) to provide to you an enjoyable, simple and educational experience. If anyone would like to send some feedback, suggestions or comments or ways they think they could help out the SampleSimple project, feel free to leave a comment. And as always, stay tuned for more. it’s that simple!

If you’ve saved your recorded song as a .FLP project file, it’ll only reference the vocal audio track files and not contain them.  To understand this, keep in mind that your vocal audio tracks, if using the Playlist Recording Mode automatically saves to the Read on…

OG314 asked:
“i cant get the edison thing to be in waveform its always a fiery looking thingy”

Well, if you load or record an audio sound sample into Edison, you’ll be presented with the normal audio waveform as depicted below.

Selecting ASIO to Record and Sample

The two most important steps when you are preparing to record and sample audio into FL Studio is selecting your ASIO-based soundcard device driver from both the Audio Settings Input/Output list as well as the Mixer INput list. Without setting these two settings, you can forget about recording and sampling your vocals, a vinyl record turntable, or any other audio sound source into FL Studio.

We’ve added two screenshots below to assist in where to find these lists when setting up and configuring your FL Studio recording and sampling environment.
